HELP OUT: Street Cafe

The Street Cafe is a mobile program that serves healthy, delicious food in a pop-up farmer's market style. The goal of the Street Cafe is to address food insecurity within the homeless and food-insecure communities. Guests "shop" for the meals and produce that they want, while information is distributed on healthy choices that can be bought at local fast-food restaurants with EBT.
Volunteers have the opportunity to:

  1. Create a smooth and stress-free shopping experience by assisting guests with the intake/exit process or shopping.

  2. Ensure that guests receive the best quality produce by pre-cleaning and pre-packing fruits and/or vegetables.

  3. Create a warm and welcoming environment and build a sense of community by engaging in conversations with guests (volunteers are encouraged to bring their own healthy meals and have lunch with our guests).
