Opportunity Details

Seed to Preschool Neighborhood Farm

Help grow food for preschools! When you volunteer at the Seed to Preschool Neighborhood Farm, the fresh fruits and vegetables you help grow go directly into the lunches and snacks at their preschools for low income families. They grow over 5000 lbs of food every year! Gardening is healthy for you, and improves the health of your community!

Be prepared to work outside. You must wear closed toe shoes! Bring a water bottle and wear weather appropriate attire that can get dirty. Dress in layers. We will supply gloves, tools, sunscreen, and materials, but feel free to bring your own favorite tools or gloves as long as you understand you are responsible for keeping track of them.

They do not have a drinking fountain. Please bring plenty of water! They do have emergency water for those who do not bring enough.

They have a variety of activities for all skills and abilities. Please notify Bianca (bbonilla@sdnccs.org) if you may have specific needs and would like to make sure there are projects you can engage in.
