Build and Beautify with Solana Center



Support Solana Center programs from the ground up! Build and Beautify is a monthly project for volunteers to get involved with their programs from home base. They welcome you to join them at the Center for nourishing activities and good company.

Activities vary and may include: building and maintaining compost bins, harvesting worm castings, weeding, trimming, raking, and removing debris, preparing materials for educational programs, and tending to the garden. Keeping their grounds functioning and looking good helps them engage their visitors with sustainability education and is vital to their ability to impact the community.


Project Requirements & Important Notes

  • Attire: Wear clothes that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes (no heels).

  • ​Bring: Reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat.

  • Weather: In the case of rain, we will put up canopies and will only do the worm harvesting portion of the event.

  • Ability: All abilities welcome, let the Team Leader know if you need any accomodations.

​Solana Center for Environmental Innovation is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on Zero Waste, composting, and water conservation. They mobilize the local community through innovative outreach and provide consulting services to businesses and jurisdictions in order to address the region’s most pressing environmental issues and enact impactful change.
