Red Cross Emergency Preparedness Calling Campaign

Join the American Red Cross to educate the community about home fire safety and save lives. On average, seven people die every day from a home fire. Fire experts agree that you may have as little as two minutes to escape a burning home before it’s too late to get out. Every eight minutes, the Red Cross responds to a disaster – and the vast majority of these are home fires. Graphic reading Are you prepared for an emergency? across the top, with American Red Cross logo in upper right corner. Below a picture of a backpack with red cross logo reads "get a kit", next to a handout of a hand drawn floorplan with text below "make a plan," and a cell phone with news on screen and text below "be informed"

You can support making homes safer by conducting outreach & education phone calls. The Red Cross will offer asynchronous training as well as the opportunity to participate in information sessions to learn more about the Emergency Preparedness Campaign on Monday and the American Red Cross more broadly on Thursday. You will be able to sign up for calling shifts convenient to your schedule, and a shift coordinator will be available to support you throughout.

About American Red Cross of Southern California

The American Red Cross Southern California Region serves San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Imperial Counties. The Southern California Region exists to provide compassionate care to those in need. Our generous donors, volunteers and employees are part of a nationwide network committed to preventing and relieving suffering here at home, across the country and around the world.

The Red Cross empowers ordinary people to perform extraordinary acts in emergency situations. We train. We mobilize. We connect donors and volunteers to those in urgent need of a helping hand. Whether it’s a wildfire or a home fire, a call for blood, or a call from a service member or military family in need, the Red Cross is there. We provide food and shelter in emergencies, assist members of our armed forces, veterans and their families, teach lifesaving skills to ensure our communities are prepared to respond to emergencies, and so much more. All Red Cross assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
