HandsOn San Diego Code of Conduct
HandsOn San Diego is an organization dedicated to strengthening communities through volunteer action and leadership development. Participation in our organization’s programs is subject to the observance of our rules and procedures. The activities outlined below are strictly prohibited. Any participant or staff member who violates this Code is subject to discipline, up to and including removal from the program.

Abusive language towards a staff member, nonprofit partner, volunteer, or another participant.

Reporting to a HandsOn San Diego volunteer opportunity while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Bringing dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons, or other similar items to a HandsOn San Diego volunteer opportunity.

Verbal, physical, or visual harassment of a staff member, nonprofit partner, volunteer, or another participant.

Conduct endangering the life, safety, health, or well-being of others.

Failure to follow all rules and policies set forth by a staff member, nonprofit partner, or volunteer leader.

Excessive use of electronic devices such as phones during a volunteer opportunity.

Discourtesy or rudeness to a staff member, nonprofit partner, volunteer, or another participant.

Bringing pets to volunteer opportunities without explicit permission.

Failure to follow our “No-Show Policy.” After 3 no-shows without reasonable excuses, your account will become inactive and you will no longer be able to volunteer using our site and calendar feature.

Removing yourself from an opportunity with less than 48 hours notice without reasonable excuses more than 3 times.

Leaving a volunteer opportunity before the stated end time without notifying the nonprofit or volunteer leader on-site.

Falsely representing their attendance at a volunteer opportunity.

Misrepresenting their age at a volunteer opportunity that limits participation by age.
By using our site and/or services, you agree to abide by the rules described above and understand that you may be removed as a participant if you violate these rules.
