January 9, 2024
HandsOn San Diego is the county’s only regional nonprofit focused solely on connecting volunteers with community needs. HandsOn San Diego works with over 100 other local nonprofits and community organizations to identify group volunteer projects that members and their families can plug into based on their schedules and interests. With over 15,000 members, HandsOn San Diego encompasses hands that make a difference.
HandsOn San Diego announces three new advisory board members.
Stacey Blanchet - A native San Diegan, Stacey is the founder of “Your Own Girl Friday,” and has extensive experience in business, fashion designing, writing, publishing, and film making. She previously served on the board of Voices of Women and has served as a Court Appointed Social Advocate for foster children. She states that “she wants to be a work in progress until the day she dies." Her enthusiasm and broad and extensive experience will be invaluable to HandsOn San Diego.
Rachel Fisher - Rachel was born and raised in San Diego and brings to HandsOn San Diego comprehensive experience in highly regulated industries such as finance, retail banking and affordable healthcare. Rachel is enthusiastic about working with General Counsels, CEOs, and Boards of Directors to enhance and modernize board and corporate governance, increasing transparency and overall value to stakeholders. Her wide ranging volunteerism includes assisting with hospice, providing legal aid to veterans and active-duty military and most recently, volunteering as a homebuilder for impoverished, migrant families in Baja, Mexico.
LaShanna Robinson - LaShanna has been volunteering with HandsOn San Diego for five years. Her favorite project is serving Sunday dinner at The San Diego Rescue Mission, where she is the volunteer leader. After starting a nonprofit that provides support to individuals and families throughout the county, LaShanna decided to take the next step by joining the HandsOn San Diego advisory board. LaShanna is excited to serve on the board and further support the mission of HandsOn San Diego.
Founded in 2013, HandsOn San Diego’s mission is to strengthen communities through volunteer action. They believe that when individuals are actively engaged, communities are stronger.
