RiverBlitz & Tributary Plant Survey Training
Join the San Diego River Park Foundation for this special training session and learn how to use a smart phone app in combination with a GPS unit to document invasive plant species along the San Diego River! This point-in-time data allows them to measure the health of the riparian (riverbank) ecosystem and plan habitat improvement strategies. Data collected will help guide their habitat restoration programs as well as stewardship and advocacy. This is a wonderful hands-on opportunity and a great way to make a difference for the future of the River and surrounding area.
After attending this training, volunteers will get an opportunity to put their newly learned skills to use in the field! Volunteers will also be able to be take on a leadership role during RiverBlitz in Santee, RiverBlitz in Mission Valley, and Tributary Plant Surveys.
Project Requirements & Important Notes

Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required. Dressing in layers is recommended. Most of the training will be inside the SDRPF office.

Physical Ability: Volunteers should be comfortable hiking short distances and walking through thick brush.

Waiver: Please bring a signed SDRPF waiver with you.
