HandsOn San Diego is the only countywide nonprofit focused on connecting volunteers with community needs. Our mission is to strengthen communities through volunteer action. We believe that when individuals are actively engaged, communities are stronger. HOSD works with local nonprofits, community organizations and parks to identify group volunteer projects. 

Each year, HOSD hosts an annual volunteer appreciation event called VolunCHEERS. We invite our nonprofit partners to nominate a volunteer exhibiting values of inclusivity, positive impact, and connection for the Helping Hand award. We also invite internal volunteers within our committees and ongoing roles to celebrate their hard work over a reception of light appetizers and drinks.
