FOOD: Food Distribution Prep Lead
Porchlight Community Services rescues food from going to waste and offers healthy options for low-income families with food restrictions and allergies that are not usually available at food pantries. They are in need of more dedicated volunteers to lead the volunteer team in the preparation for weekly food distribution events.
Volunteer lead responsibilities include orienting volunteers to the pantry, assigning and directing tasks,and ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner, while maintaining safe food handling practices. This is an ongoing opportunity with the expectation that volunteers can commit to at least 6 months.
Project Requirements & Important Notes

Skills: Volunteers should have good communication skills, with the ability to organize others. Previous food pantry experience desirable, and all volunteers are asked to obtain a food handler's certificate.

Shifts: Volunteers for this position are needed on Thursdays, from 9:30 am-2:30 pm and Sundays from 9:30 am -2:00 pm. For more information, please contact them at volunteers@porchlightcommunity.com.
