FOOD: South Bay Food Distribution

Help sort, pack, and/or distribute bags during South Bay Community Services' drive thru food distribution. Each bag will contain foods such as beans, lentils, veggies, fruit, and more. These will be given out to those who have been affected from COVID-19 and need extra support.

South Bay Community Services provides dry foods and produce to hundreds of families and thousands of individuals at each of their 3 weekly food distributions. The support they provide has become vital to many families in Chula Vista.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

• Shifts: Shift times are flexible but a minimum of 4 hours is required. Volunteers are needed:

  • Mondays 9:30am - 4:00pm

  • Tuesdays 9:30am - 4:30pm

  • Wednesdays 12:30pm - 4:30pm

  • Thursdays 7:00am - 11:00am

• Attire: Closed-toe shoes, long pants, t-shirts

• Physical Ability: Most volunteers will be on their feet for majority of the shift; however, they are accommodating of volunteers who cannot stand for long periods of time or have limited mobility, just let them know in advance.

• ​Safety:  Volunteers may only work one day a week at one location only to avoid cross-contamination

• Commitment: Volunteers must be prepared to come to their shift consistently every week for at least 1 month
