Opportunity Details

VIRTUAL: Community Outreach & Partnership Specialist

Help create partnerships and grow the Helping Hands Community presence in San Diego. They’re looking for Community Outreach & Partnership Specialist volunteers to help grow and engage their community of volunteers and partner organizations. On a day-to-day basis, you will be reaching out to and building relationships with local organizations like food banks, healthcare organizations, and other community groups, as well as helping to organize and execute events with community partners. This role is absolutely critical to scaling their platform and reaching a larger population of those most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Research and connect with local community leaders and organizations serving COVID-19 vulnerable populations. Research and connect with other volunteer organizations that can help broaden the volunteer base of Helping Hands Community. Facilitate virtual meetings with potential partners interested in working with Helping Hands Community. Help organize and execute local volunteer events on an as-needed basis. Solve their users' needs through creativity, connections, and grit. Support and collaborate with other HHC San Diego team members. Use communication and CRM tools such as Slack, HubSpot and Google Drive


Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

  • Recommended Skills/Experience: Empathy and a passion for community service. Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter mentality. Takes initiative to research and connect with local leaders and organizations. Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience in sales, account management, marketing, community outreach, or partnerships preferred. 

  • Time Commitment: 5-8 hours/week for the next 2-3 months (some weekday availability required)


About Helping Hands

Helping Hands Community is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those most vulnerable to COVID-19: senior citizens, the immunocompromised, and people with preexisting medical conditions that put them at additional risk. Their national network of volunteers deliver groceries, medications, and other necessary supplies, and our local and national partners-including city and county governments, mutual-aid organizations, faith-based organizations, food banks, community groups-scale our efforts to help us identify and reach those in need.
