HEALTH: COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Operator

Volunteers are needed to support the overwhelming call volume for COVID-19 vaccination appointments at the VA Medical Center in La Jolla. With your help, they will be able to more quickly serve the next tier eligible for vaccinations. 

As a volunteer you will receive inbound calls to their appointment line, schedule the COVID vaccine appointment for the individuals calling, and input the appointment into their system (minor data entry, minimal software skills needed--just basic operating knowledge of computer use). The VA Medical Center is currently fielding calls from the 75 and older age category for the vaccination appointments and once those are fulfilled, they will move to the next age category for these inbound calls.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

• Shifts: In-person during VA business hours, Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm (flexible and open to discussing split shifts for these hours)

• Time Commitment: Volunteers are needed as soon as possible and are requested to make at least a 3-4 week commitment.

• Requirements: Volunteers will have access to medical records, therefore, a background check is required. The background check is noninvasive and similar to a typical new employee background check.
