HELP OUT: Half Marathon & 5K with the La Jolla Kiwanis Club
The La Jolla Kiwanis Half Marathon & 5K is nearly 50 years old and is their biggest event of the year. Last year, the Kiwanis Club of La Jolla generated more than $550K in grants that went right back into their community. This year, they are expecting to raise a great deal more!
Driven by their objective to donate as much as possible back into the community, their Kiwanis team is entirely volunteer operated and organizes this event on volunteer hours alone. Having a dedicated group of volunteers allows them to almost eliminate any paid personnel at their Expo and Race Day events. Over 400 volunteers are needed to put this event on, so they literally could not have such an amazing impact on their community without them.
The La Jolla Kiwanis Club will provide volunteers with a shirt, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Attire: Closed-toe shoes and casual clothing suggested. Wear layers with a light jacket for cool cloudy mornings that turn into warm sunny days. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade, so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.

Physical Requirements: Volunteer opportunities with a range of physical requirements will be provided by the opportunity coordinator. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and the space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Waiver: A waiver will be provided by the opportunity coordinator.

Weather: Rain or shine. Most volunteer opportunities will have access to tent shelter in the event of rain.
