ECO: Waste Diversion Volunteer
The Solana Center envisions a region where cities unite to preserve resources through a closed-loop system. Their goal is to keep materials out of landfills and waterways, replenish nutrients in our soils, and drive systemic change at all levels to address the pressing climate crisis.
This is an opportunity to make a big impact on diversion of waste from the landfill! Teaching folks how to properly dispose and sort their trash is an important part of waste reduction. Help the Solana Center lighten the load on the planet by leading others in proper recycling and disposal at this large event.
Volunteers will assist Solana Center staff with setting up and staffing the waste diversion stations at the event: helping attendees properly dispose of their garbage in sorting stations (recycling bin, food waste bin, trash can). Volunteers may also assist with some sorting and weighing of waste at the end of the event.
