VIRTUAL: Info Session for Big Brothers Big Sisters San Diego County

Volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County (BBBS) has a direct, measurable, and lasting impact. When someone becomes a mentor—or a “Big”—they’re showing up for a young person who may be facing adversity, instability, or simply in need of consistent support. Littles often experience improved self-esteem, stronger academic performance, and better social-emotional skills as a result of their relationship with their Big. For BBBS, every match they make helps them move closer to their vision: that all youth achieve their full potential. But they can't do that without volunteers. Mentorship is powerful—and showing up for a child even just a few hours a month can truly change their life. And often, volunteers find it changes their own life as well.

Please note that this is a virtual information session. There's no commitment required today—this is simply a chance to learn more, ask questions, and see if volunteering as a mentor feels like the right fit for you. Volunteers who move forward to become "Bigs" are matched one-on-one with a youth (ages 7–18) as a mentor. Volunteers who participate in Community-Based Mentoring spend time out in the community with their Little doing activities you both enjoy—going to the park, getting ice cream, visiting a museum, or just hanging out and talking. BBBS also hosts match events and offer community resources to keep you and your Little engaged throughout the year.
