HELP OUT: Old Fashioned 4th of July in Poway

Help out at the largest 4th of July event in Poway, serving families and our community to create a memorable experience for everyone involved. Volunteers will help the City of Poway provide a fun, entertaining, and family friendly Old Fashioned Fourth of July experience for all attendees. 

Volunteers will have the opportunity to select the station they would like to work. The stations throughout Old Poway Park include crafts, historical characters, interacting with the public, and monitoring train crossings.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

• Attire: Closed-toe shoes, cool attire. Shirts can be provided to identify volunteers. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.

• Bring: Water, snacks

• Physical Requirements:  This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations. Certain stations do not require large amounts of physical labor. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

• Weather: This event takes place rain or shine. The weather will be sunny, and forecasts show mild-warm climate.

Old Poway Park provides visitors the opportunity to experience and learn about Poway's unique history at its Heritage Museum, the Poway Midland Railroad, and the Nelson House.
