HELP OUT: Thank You Thursdays

Words Alive has connected children, teens, and families across San Diego County to the power of reading for over 25 years. They are fortunate to be supported by over 700 volunteers around the globe, all investing their time, talent, and treasure in San Diego’s youth. Join them in saying “thank you” to the incredible volunteers who make their work possible.

Project participants will support Words Alive’s volunteer recognition efforts by supporting data entry, snail mail, and phone campaigns to thank the volunteers who make their work connecting children, teens, and families to the power of reading possible.

Participants will learn about Words Alive’s mission and the state of literacy in San Diego while embodying their organizational value of gratitude. Tasks include entering data to support volunteer recognition campaigns into a database using a computer, preparing physical materials to be sent to volunteers (including stuffing and seal envelopes), and conducting thank you calls using landlines located in the Words Alive office. Seated and standing work stations are available onsite.
