HELP OUT: Día De Muertos Festival en Barrio Logan

Celebrate our community’s culture and honors loved ones who’ve passed by volunteering at the Día de Muertos event. Volunteers help bring the festival to life — supporting art, music, and traditions that connect and uplift Barrio Logan.

Volunteers will help with setup, decorations, artist and vendor support, welcoming guests, and keeping the event running smoothly. It’s a chance to honor tradition, connect with the community, and be part of one of Barrio Logan’s most meaningful cultural celebrations.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

• Orientation: Volunteers are expected to attend the volunteer orientation on Wednesday October 22 at 6:00pm at The Woo, 2212 Main St., San Diego, CA 92113. 

• ​Attire: A volunteer t-shirt will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat. Wearing a light jacket is recommended.

• Bring: Reusable water bottle

• Physical Requirements: Volunteers should be able to stand or walk for extended periods and help with setup that may include lifting light to moderately heavy items. Accommodations can be made for those who need lighter tasks. Lighter tasks include: greeting guests, assisting at information booths, or helping with arts and crafts activities. Seating and shade areas will also be available for breaks. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

• Waiver: Volunteers will need to sign the All for Logan volunteer waiver and media release. 

• Weather: The event will continue in light rain, with tents and covered areas available. In case of severe weather, setup times or activities may be adjusted, and volunteers will be notified of any changes by text or email.

• Photos: Volunteers are asked to sign a media release form. Photos and videos may be taken during the event to highlight community participation and celebrate Día de Muertos in Barrio Logan.

• Note: Volunteers are essential to making this celebration possible! Please arrive on time for your shift, check in at Volunteer HQ (early shift 1) or Booth (soft 2 and 3), and bring your energy and community spirit. Training and guidance will be provided on-site.
