HELP OUT: Oceanside Farmers Market - Information Booth

The Oceanside Morning Farmers Market takes place every Thursday year-round in Downtown Oceanside. Hosted by MainStreet Oceanside, the market brings together local farmers, food vendors, and small businesses offering fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, honey, olives, sauces, and other gourmet items.

The Information Booth serves as a central point for visitors attending the market. By supporting the Information Booth, volunteers help visitors navigate the market, discover local vendors, and enjoy a positive community experience while supporting small businesses and local agriculture.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome visitors and answer general questions about the market

• Provide directions to vendors, restrooms, parking, and nearby downtown businesses

• Share information about MainStreet Oceanside programs and events

• Assist with distributing maps or informational materials when available

• ​Help maintain a friendly, welcoming presence for market guests

Required Skills/Experience: 

• The market takes place outdoors and can be busy, so volunteers should arrive a few minutes early and be prepared to interact with visitors in a lively community setting.

Time Commitment: 2 hours per week with no minimum commitment. You can sign up for just one shift!

Onboarding Process: Volunteers need to complete a general volunteer application prior to registering for a shift. Volunteers can register for an upcoming shift here.

Physical Requirements: Volunteers are welcome to stand or sit in the Information Booth. Some bending may be required to unpack/pack up materials at the start and end of a shift. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations. Wheelchair users are welcome and there is accessible parking nearby. The space where this booth takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Attire: Because the role takes place outdoors in a high-traffic downtown area, volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Please be prepared to stand, greet visitors, and answer questions about Downtown Oceanside.
