HELP OUT: Rancho Peñasquitos Farmers Market

Little Hearts of Joy now hosts the Rancho Peñasquitos Farmers Market weekly. Volunteers are needed to help with setting up, breaking down, and running the event to build a community atmosphere. 

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Key Responsibilities:

• Market Setup: Assist with setting up the farmers market

• Kids’ Area Setup & Supervision: Help set up the kids’ area. Volunteers assigned to this area will oversee it during market hours to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and families.

• Trash Management: Ensure that trash is managed properly.

• Market Support: Provide general information to attendees and answer basic questions from potential vendors.

• Cleanliness & Waste Management: Help collect trash from designated trash cans throughout the market, separate waste for proper disposal, and ensure the overall market area remains clean and organized.

• Market Breakdown: Assist with breaking down the farmers market at the end of the day, including the kids’ area, vendor areas, and common spaces.

Skills & Qualifications: 

• Customer service skills

Training Provided: Onsite training

Attire: Comfortable work clothes that can get dirty. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade, so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.

Bring: Water

Physical Requirements: Must be able to pick up and move things that are 25lbs. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.
