HELP OUT: Ukrainian Heritage Festival
Join the Slavic Refugee & Immigrant Services Organization (SRISO) for their first annual Discover Ukraine cultural celebration! This free, family-friendly event will bring Ukrainian culture to life through live music and dance, traditional food, artisan vendors, cultural exhibits, children’s activities, and community resources. SRISO is expecting to welcome approximately 5,000–7,000 guests from across San Diego County.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteers should be comfortable working as part of a team in a busy outdoor event environment. Specific assignments and instructions will be provided before the event and may include:

Event setup and breakdown

Registration and check-in
-
Children’s zone support
-
Vendor and artist support
-
Stage and program assistance
-
Crowd guidance and wayfinding

Volunteer hospitality
-
General event operations and cleanup
Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade, so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.
Bring: A reusable waterbottle is encouraged
Physical Requirements: Light lifting to support the set up and breakdown process. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and the space where this project takes place is not wheelchair accessible.
Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this project. No habrá ningún hispanohablante presente en este proyecto.
Note: Individuals and volunteer groups are welcome.
